2Keys Security Solutions Recognized as Privacy by Design Ambassador

Toronto, Ontario April 29, 2013 - We are pleased to announce that the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Dr. Ann Cavoukian, has selected 2Keys Security Solutions (2Keys) as a Privacy by Design Ambassador. The Privacy by Design ambassador designation recognizes 2Keys’ commitment to the protection of personal information and the persistent efforts of 2Keys in ensuring end-to-end security and privacy.

“Our commitment is to ensure that information being stored remains anonymous and that no individual is directly identifiable by the resulting credential. The default privacy position must ensure that personally identifiable information and associated privacy preferences remain under the exclusive care and control of the individual.” says Dimitri Vekris, Vice President, Strategic Relations.

In September 2012, 2Keys completed the deployment of the innovative GCKey service for the Government of Canada. With over 1.7 million users currently registered, the GCKey service provides individuals and businesses with secure and private access to more than 45 web-based services across 23 government departments.

“I am pleased to welcome 2Keys Security Solutions as a Privacy by Design Organizational Ambassador. Their GCKey service is a clear example of a win-win solution, providing an anonymous trust framework between citizens and their government,” said Dr. Ann Cavoukian, Ontario’s Information and Privacy Commissioner. “2Keys have embraced the 7 Foundational Principles of Privacy by Design and have embedded them, not into selected projects, but into the very operation of the organization itself.”
